the term change agent has been around since the mid 1800's... to ...its popular use is generally in reference to an individual who creates bold changes in larger organizations. but change is happening constantly, everywhere, with everything, and every change has been caused by some sort of catalyst or change agent. it's sometimes big, but much of the time, it's quite subtle. everything is something else's change agent. even a rock sitting in the middle of a stream influences the water to go around it. we are all exchanging influence to some degree with everything around us. we are all change agents to the world, all the time. a question i pose to myself is: what sort of change agent are you? what sort of changes do you induce? are you a rock that the world is forced to flow around? ...or do the changes you affect mesh with a weave of collaboration? are your threads of change imbuing love into the fabric of life? are you drawing compassionate change agents into your own life fabric?
